Gemma joined the St Elmo Veterinary Clinic team in January 2019, having qualified from Letterkenny Institute of Technology in June 2017. She has a keen interest in nurse consultations and surgery, particularly in all aspects of surgical aftercare. In her free time, Gemma enjoys spending time with her dog Patch and hanging out on the beach!
Mairead Boyce RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Mairead graduated from the Letterkenny Institute in 2013 and has since completed a top-up degree in animal behaviour and welfare as well as a Master’s degree in teaching and learning. Mairead’s favourite aspect of being an RVN is doing nurse consults as well as helping clients and students alike. She also teaches Veterinary Nursing in Letterkenny institute and likes to spend time with friends and family.
Shannon Doherty RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Shannon qualified from the College of Animal Welfare in 2019. Shannon enjoys all areas of surgical nursing, including anaesthesia. She has a keen interest in nutrition. In her free time, Shannon enjoys exploring new places with her dog Frank and taking part in the occasional spin class!
Patrice McBrearty RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Patrice graduated from Athlone Institute in 2011 as a registered veterinary nurse. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, especially the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical cases, as well as their monitoring during anaesthesia.
In her spare time she loves talking her dog Roxy for long walks along the beach.
Megan Gallagher
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Megan is most interested in diagnostic imaging and wound management. In her free time, she loves beach walks with her black Labrador Josie and outdoor activities.
